How Botox Works
Botox is a neuromodulator. It temporarily relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, the kind that show up when you raise your eyebrows, squint, or frown.
It's typically used for forehead lines, frown lines between the brows (sometimes called 11s), and crow's feet around the eyes.
Botox doesn't add volume. It softens movement-based wrinkles by calming the muscles underneath.

How Filler Works
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances (usually hyaluronic acid) that add volume where it's been lost or where you want more definition.
They're commonly used to restore fullness in the cheeks, smooth out nasolabial folds (the lines from your nose to your mouth), enhance the lips, or address hollowing under the eyes.
Filler doesn't affect muscle movement. It fills in areas that have lost structure or definition over time.

Which Concerns Call for Which?
Here's a general guide:
Lines that appear when you make expressions (like raising your eyebrows or squinting) are often treated with Botox.
Lines that are visible even when your face is at rest, or areas that look hollow or flat, are typically better suited for filler.
Lip fullness and definition are addressed with filler.
Crow's feet and forehead lines are usually Botox.
Cheek volume loss and nasolabial folds are often filler.
Some concerns, like lines around the mouth, can involve both, depending on the cause.
Can You Do Both?
Yes, and many patients do. Botox and filler complement each other well.
For example, you might use Botox to soften your forehead and frown lines while using filler to restore cheek volume or add definition to your lips. They can be done in the same appointment if it makes sense for your goals.
How Nurse Jayme Helps You Decide
During your consultation, Nurse Jayme will assess your face at rest and in motion. She'll ask about your goals and what's been bothering you, then explain which treatment (or combination) could help.
If she doesn't think you need something, she'll say so. There's no pressure to do both, and no upselling. The goal is to help you feel confident about your plan before moving forward.
