Laser & Energy Aftercare
Pico Laser Aftercare
Congrats on your Pico treatment! PICO MAJESTY uses 1064 nm and 532 nm picosecond energy for pigmentation, tattoo work, and skin revitalization. Because those are different goals, your aftercare and downtime depend on exactly what we treated and how aggressively — so find the section below that matches your visit.
Your treatment was customized to your skin, treatment area, device settings, and medical history. These instructions are general guidance and do not replace the individualized instructions from your treating provider. If the instructions we gave you at your appointment differ from anything here, follow your provider's instructions or contact us for clarification.

After Pico Toning / Low-Downtime Rejuvenation
You may notice:
- Mild warmth
- Pinkness or redness
- Temporary tightness or dryness
- Occasionally small bumps or mild swelling
This typically settles quickly.
Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and daily broad-spectrum SPF. If your skin stays warm or flushed, avoid strenuous exercise, hot showers, saunas, and excessive heat until it calms down.
Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and other irritating actives for several days or until your skin feels completely normal.
After Targeted Pigment Treatment
Individual brown spots can become darker or more visible before they lighten — this is an expected response for many pigment treatments.
Do not pick, scratch, scrub, or peel darkened areas. Let them shed naturally.
Use a gentle moisturizer and diligent broad-spectrum SPF. Sun exposure during healing increases the risk of unwanted pigment changes.
After More Aggressive / Fractional Pico Rejuvenation
You may have more noticeable:
- Redness
- Swelling
- Pinpoint marks
- Dry or sandpaper-like texture
- Mild flaking over several days
Avoid makeup for at least the first 24 hours or until the skin surface is intact and comfortable. Avoid vigorous exercise and heat for 24–48 hours, and hold irritating actives for about 5–7 days or until fully calm.

Common Questions
Is there downtime after Pico laser?
It depends on what we treated. Gentle Pico toning usually settles within a day or two, while more aggressive fractional rejuvenation can involve redness, swelling, and light flaking for several days.
Why did my dark spots get darker after Pico?
Targeted pigment often looks darker or more visible before it lightens and sheds — this is expected. Don't pick or scrub the areas; let them flake off naturally and protect them with SPF.
