Injectables Aftercare
Botox & Neuromodulator Aftercare
Congrats on your treatment! Whether you received Botox, Dysport, Letybo, or another botulinum toxin, there's very little actual "healing" involved — the injection sites just need a little time to settle.
Your treatment was customized to your skin, treatment area, device settings, and medical history. These instructions are general guidance and do not replace the individualized instructions from your treating provider. If the instructions we gave you at your appointment differ from anything here, follow your provider's instructions or contact us for clarification.

What to Expect
- Tiny bumps at the injection sites for a few minutes
- Mild redness or tenderness
- Pinpoint bruising
- Occasionally a mild headache
- No immediate change in muscle movement — that's completely normal
What To Do
- Stay upright for about 4 hours after treatment as a conservative precaution.
- Wash your face normally, but gently.
- If needed, use a cool compress lightly — don't firmly press or massage the area.
- You may apply makeup carefully; just avoid rubbing it into the injection sites.
Major medical centers commonly recommend avoiding rubbing/massage for about 12–24 hours and staying upright for several hours, although the evidence behind many traditional Botox restrictions is limited.
What NOT To Do
- Don't massage or firmly rub the treated areas for 24 hours.
- Skip facial massage, gua sha, or pressure-heavy facial treatments that day.
- Wait until the next day for strenuous exercise.
- Avoid unnecessary pressure directly over the injection sites.
Alcohol, heat, and exercise are mainly concerns for bruising and swelling — not because they "deactivate" your tox.

The right time to evaluate symmetry and overall effect.
Results commonly last around 3–4 months, though it varies by product, dose, treatment area, muscle strength, and your own metabolism. Consistency over time is what keeps results looking their best.

Common Questions
What should I not do after Botox?
For about 24 hours, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas, facial massage or gua sha, and strenuous exercise. Stay upright for roughly 4 hours afterward. These steps mainly reduce the chance of bruising and swelling.
How long does Botox take to work?
Many people notice softening in 2–5 days, with results continuing to develop through days 7–14. Around the two-week mark is the best time to assess the final effect.
